Removing Coffee? Alkalize.

When you learn that you really shouldn't drink as much coffee to support your health because of adrenal fatigue, thyroid dysfunction, blood sugar balance, arthritis, or other concerns, it's a rough day. Coffee detoxification is even worse. The withdrawal symptoms may cause mental and physical discomfort for several days.


To help with the transition, drink whole lemon water to alkalize your body. Wash an organic lemon and slice it. Place the WHOLE lemon including the peel in the blender with two cups of filtered cold water. Add some chia seeds and psyllium husk to support your digestion and removal of excess sugars, fats, and hormones. An additional benefit of including the rind in your drink is that lemon peel contains quercetin which is a powerful anti-inflammatory and also supports blood sugar control, prevention of heart disease and cancer. If the whole lemon water doesn't suit you, have a green drink with spinach, berries, avocado or banana, ginger root, lemon with peel, and filtered water. An alkaline drink may take the edge off of the caffeine withdrawal symptoms and make the transition away from coffee easier.
