We were in Belize earlier this summer. While checking out the ancient Mayan ruins at Xunanitunich I found this avocado - still attached to the tree! Avocados are a staple for me. They make green drinks so smooth and creamy! Here is my practically-everyday-green-drink-recipe: chunk of raw ginger, a handful of organic greens, 1/4 - 1/2 of an organic beet (depending on the size) including the beet tops, 1/2 of an organic lemon WITH peel, 1/2 of an organic apple, 1-2 tsp of psyllium husk, 1/2 of an avocado and filtered cold water to nearly the top of the blender. This concoction has anti-inflammatory and detoxification properties as well as a healthy fat from the avocado. My husband tells me that green drinks "make him feel better." I find that they give me lots of energy. Enjoy this drink right out of the blender and leftovers can be refridgerated in a tightly closed container for 2ish days.
